The
most important thing to consider when starting a daylily garden
is the end goal. If a garden that has many, many similar colored
blooms for a shorter period of time is desired, several plants
of the same species would do the trick nicely. However, if
a garden that is dynamic throughout the growing season and
changes bloom colors often would be more suitable, many different
species planted together would be much more likely.
One thing
to note when planting a daylily garden is that daylily blooms
will only last for one day each. Due to each plant having
several blooms, and each bunch having several plants however,
the bloom season of a daylily garden can last for several
months. If the garden is in full sun, daylilies will be able
to thrive much better.
