Daylily Gardens
Daylily gardens are becoming more popular each year as gardeners discover the ease of growing these beautiful plants. Many daylily gardens are set up in a way that allows for lovely blooms to be present from mid spring all the way through autumn. Planting a variety of daylily plants that have a variety of bloom times does this.

The most important thing to consider when starting a daylily garden is the end goal. If a garden that has many, many similar colored blooms for a shorter period of time is desired, several plants of the same species would do the trick nicely. However, if a garden that is dynamic throughout the growing season and changes bloom colors often would be more suitable, many different species planted together would be much more likely.

One thing to note when planting a daylily garden is that daylily blooms will only last for one day each. Due to each plant having several blooms, and each bunch having several plants however, the bloom season of a daylily garden can last for several months. If the garden is in full sun, daylilies will be able to thrive much better.

Another aspect of daylilies to know when staring a daylily garden is that the different species of daylilies have different bloom times. Some of them will bloom early in the morning and die at the end of the day. Others will bloom in mid afternoon and last all the way through the night. In this way, it is possible to have a daylily garden that is beautiful and flowering all night and day.
